Lost on blogger

I was off-line for 6 months and I missed blogger.  My house was struck by lightening and burned.  It has been a long way back.  Thank the Lord for friends and my insurance company who have stood by me.  Some even helped me scrub my home purchased after the fire.  Never underestimate the value of friends and your church family!  And of course, your biological family.  Family is valuable for health, never mind if they have wealth or not.  Family connections promote longer life if the relationships are good.  Mine are excellent and was a great contributor to my well being in all of the struggle back to normal life and living.

Check out one of my favorite books: "Younger Next Year."  The specific values are there.

Summer Weight loss?

Have you lost any weight this summer?  You have missed a golden opportunity if not.  Summer is the best time to lose weight.  The heat helps sweat off some weight when you are outside with the least effort.  My weight just melts off when I work in the yard with the heat we have been having this summer.  Who cannot use some free help when they want to lose weight?
Summer is best for the green and colorful vegetables and fruit you need for your diet.  The best Diet foods are fresh and better in the summer.  Apples, pears, berries and a host of the vegetables you need for good nutrition while you diet.  These have no cholesterol and almost zero fat when eaten fresh.  There are hundreds of meals and salads that can be made with little preparation.  For instance, a waldorf salad made with apples can have walnuts added for protein with a no fat salad dressing and complete a meal with a low fat cheese.  If this is lunchtime, add your favorite flavor of sherbet.  If you must have meat, cook enough chicken or salmon on the grill for two days and add one of these instead of cheese at lunch and dinner.
Summer is designed for weight loss.  The weather and the food are furnished for you to take advantage of  some help with your weight loss.

Forever Leave What you Loose

Did you loose weight recently?  Was it the amount you wanted to loose?  Never mind how much if you lost some weight.  Any amount is good if you are overweight or obese.  Do not get discouraged about not attaining the amount you were trying for this time.  The good news is you are still at work getting it done!  You can loose more before the next weigh-in.  You do want to get the weight off as soon as possible and healthy.  You may need a partner to share with to keep your spirits up.  Be sure to communicate with friends or forums to compare methods and successes.  I learn a few bits of information that I had not encountered each time I tune in to one of these.
Be sure to get the right kind of diet for you.  Your needs are personal for you.
Make sure you follow a definite plan for keeping the weight off you have lost.  Reducing the amount of food and drink intake is a necessity, but you may need a healthy snack between meals to prevent overeating at mealtime.  Try fruit or cereal bars.  Cereal bars come with everything from nuts to chocolate mixed in so that they are delicious and they furnish fibre you need every day.  Make sure your snacks are nutritous and not junk food.

Expert Advice on Prevention

One of my favorite authorities on PREVENTIVE LIVING is Dr. Harvey Simon.  He says, "The key to preventive health is prudent living rather than medical technology."  He has 10 commandments for healthy living.  You can find his book, "Staying Well" in the library.  You can also read them in my book,  "Living Temple or Rundown Shack."  These commandment are on page 56.  His book was written before our present recommendations for exercise, but all other 9 items are right on for Preventive Medicine.  Remember my previous tip:  Preventive medicine is rarely a pill/prescription, but something you do.
I would be very interested to know what you do to keep well including diet, exercise, medication or supplements; whatever.  http://www.joyduf.blogspot.com/  How about this for a healthy exercise?

Weight Loss Motivation

I am always wondering why any person would enjoy carrying 50 to 100 pounds of anything everywhere they go??  I see people with this much weight struggling to walk and wonder if they do not realize why they have difficulty moving at a normal pace comfortably.  Some of these people are people I love and want them to stay around for a long time.  If you read this and want some motivation, I do seminars on care for your body.  I wrote a book that will help with motivation also.  I can only give you the results of carrying excess weight and ways to get rid of it.  The action is up to you.  Check this site for the book:

Mouth Ulcer Prevention

Did you know most mouth ulcers caused by food allergies can be prevented?  Gensing is the answer.  Your family doctor will not know this unless he has done his own private research.  Medical schools do not usually teach anything about herbs.  Some medical students in the last decade are deciding to major on herbal medicine, but most of the time have to change schools.
Many years ago our family doctor was needing something to help my mother eat something other than oatmeal or cornflakes.  He sent her to the woods to dig gensing roots, wash and dry them, put in a dish in the cabinet.  When she was having difficulty with her stomach from eating, she was to chew a piece of the gensing root and swallow the juice.  This enabled her to eat some foods that were unthinkable before.
I inherited my mother's food allergies.  It takes 500 to 600mg of gensing to do any prevention.  That 100mg capsule found on grocery shelves and the pharmacy department of the Variety stores will not do it.  Most vitamin/nutrition stores will have one with 500 to 700mg of gensing root.  Read the label for gensing root. Gensing tea is made mostly from leaves.  The tea will soothe your stomach, but may not prevent ulcers if you have a serious food allergy.  Gensing tea may also increase your energy.

Manage Weightloss

Weightloss is a big and important topic at present.  Some Employers reward employees who loose weight because it is less expensive to support healthcare for all if a few are not an excessive amount of the cost.  Overweight is expensive!  The healthcare cost and life insurance cost would be an incentive for weightloss.  Learning how to loose weight gets a lot of press.  I highly recommend learning what terms mean on foods.  For instance, light on most items would mean 1/2 the fat or 1/3 fewer calories.  Reduced just means less, lower or fewer fat and calories which is usually about 25% less.  Low usually means about 25% lower than ordinary amount in foods.  If you are considering a food that has astronomical amounts to begin with even low would mean you should not buy it if you are trying to loose weight.  Besides being expensive at the doctor's office, overweight means working at weightloss without spending a bundle to succeed.  There is so much free help, it is not necessary to become poor for a HEALTHY WEIGHT!   A good, free newsletter for healthy ways to LOOSE WEIGHT can help.  Get topics for food, eating habits, etc., all in the same place.  Look at MarketHealth for suggestion and here to sign up for their newsletter: http://mhlnk.com/0001072B
